About Albany
School of Humanities
One
of three magnet schools in the City School District of
Albany, the mission of Albany School of Humanities (ASH) is
to educate all students to be lifelong learners, capable
decision-makers and positive contributors to their
community.
The humanities
approach provides students with an overview of diverse
cultures. Students are taught using an innovative
curriculum that incorporates the arts into daily
teaching and learning activities.

English-language learners -- The Service
Learning Club has produced a booklet for
English-as-a-second-language students at Giffen
Memorial Elementary School with instructions on how
to ride a CDTA bus.

ASH students 'paws' for a cause -- Students at Albany School of Humanities (ASH) and Pine
Hills
Elementary School will take a break during their holiday concerts to
give the Mohawk-Hudson Humane Society more than 1,000 pounds of pet
food collected during the past month. The pet-food donation drive --
"Paws for a Cause" -- culminates at a series of
holiday concerts at both schools, starting with ASH
on Dec. 12 and ending at Pine Hills on Dec. 22. The
school-wide efforts were coordinated by music
teacher Nicole Sommers-Bradley. (MORE)

If your child is absent from school for
any reason, call the school at 462-7258 during the
morning and provide a written excuse when your child
returns to school.
