Myers student achieves state merit
Eighth-grader Arielle King, student government
president at Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School, received a New
York State Community Distinction Award on Feb. 7.
The award
honors those who have shown “blue-ribbon leadership and worked
significantly to improve the quality of life” in the state.
King
also won the Black History Month Creative Expressions Contest sponsored
by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and was featured at a Feb. 12 awards
ceremony at Myers.
